The Women’s Prayer Group In Christ is dedicated to the sanctification of its members and the Church through prayer, study and works: corresponding to the love, knowledge and service of God. Our monthly meetings include: Holy Mass, Holy Hour, Praying of the Holy Rosary, Bible Discussion, organizing of Spiritual Work, and Prayer Intentions.

We entrust the Women’s Prayer Group In Christ to the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary.

PRAYER

“Watch and Pray…” (Matthew 26:41)

In prayer, we grow in love for God and love of neighbor.

BIBLE STUDY

“And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, full of grace and truth.”

(John 1:14)

“Blessed are they who hear the word of God, and keep it.” (Luke 11:28)

To know God, we must study His living word, which shall not pass away.

SPIRITUAL WORKS

“So let your light shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven.”

(Matthew 5:16)

“For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus in good works, which God hath prepared that we should walk in them.”

(Ephesians 2:10)

May our faith be fruitful in works pleasing to God.

Sermon on the Mount

The Beatitudes

Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Blessed are the meek: for they shall possess the land.

Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.

Blessed are they that hunger and thirst after justice: for they shall have their fill.

Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy.

Blessed are the clean of heart: for they shall see God.

Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called children of God.

Blessed are they that suffer persecution for justice’ sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Blessed are ye when they shall revile you, and persecute you, and speak all that is evil against you, untruly, for my sake: Be glad and rejoice, for your reward is very great in heaven.

“Among other things that pertain to salvation of the Christian peoples, the food of the Word of God is above all necessary, because as the body is nourished by material food, so is the soul nourished by spiritual food, since, ‘…not by bread alone doth man live, but in every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.’”
–Fourth Lateran Council (1215)

“Ignorance of Scriptures is ignorance of Christ.” -St Jerome

“Holy Scripture by the manner of its language transcends every science, because in one and the same sentence, while it describes a fact, it reveals a mystery.” -Pope St. Gregory

Code of Canon Law, Book II, Title I, Canon 215: The Christian faithful are at liberty freely to found and direct associations for purposes of charity or piety or for the promotion of the Christian vocation in the world and to hold meetings for the common pursuit of these purposes.
